Dehydrated Oxbile
Dehydrated Oxbile is prepared in a low temperature dehydration process. It is used as a selective inhibitory agent in culture media such as Brilliant Green Bile 2%, Mueller Kauffman Broth Base and Gram (+) bacilli of the genus Enterococcus (Bile Esculin Azide LAB-AGAR™). The addition of bile inhibits the growth of Gram (+) bacteria except faecal streptococci. The presence of bile in media allows selective growth of Enterobacteriaceae and enterococci.
