Puromycin Dihydrochloride
Puromycin dihydrochloride is an aminonucleoside antibiotic commonly used in molecular biology as a selection agent to isolate and maintain cells expressing a puromycin resistance gene (pac). It mimics aminoacyl-tRNA and causes premature chain termination during translation, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis and ultimately cell death in sensitive cells.
