This adaptor is used to give size fractionation of dust sampling and based on a conical inhalable sampling (CIS) head; it gives a total inhalable fraction at 3.5 l/min.
This accessory also requires the use of the PUF (polyurethane foam) filters and an air sampling pump. The size selective adaptor works by fitting over the probe of the Microdust Pro and using a sampling pump to draw the air through the system. The will in turn collect a sample of 25 or 37 mm cassettes for later identification and analysis. The Polyurethane Foam PUF filters give size selection and limits sizes for PM10, PM2.5 or PM4 (respirable) fractions.
